Founder's Story

One January evening in 2021, I found myself alone in the quiet of my home, reflecting on my journey. It had been over two decades since a home invasion left me paralyzed on one side, and unable to walk or speak—a fate that could have silenced my purpose. But I chose not to let it end there. With determination and faith, I fought to reclaim my ability to walk and talk, even though my right hand remains changed still to this day.

That evening, though, a different question weighed heavily on my mind. I felt God’s voice ask me, "What are you doing with your life?" My answer was simple and honest: "I do not know." It was a moment of deep introspection, and as I searched for an answer, the television in the background caught my attention. It was tuned to CNBC, and a segment about the wealth gap was on. John Hope Bryant was speaking with passion about how changing the mindset of young people could alter their financial futures and help bridge that gap. His words struck a chord deep within me. Suddenly, I knew exactly what I was being called to do.

That moment gave birth to Cobb Global Outreach Inc. I realized that everything I had endured—surviving a traumatic event, facing my limitations, and fighting to recover—had prepared me to help the next generation, especially those who face obstacles like I did. I knew that I could use my experience to make a difference by teaching young people the power of financial literacy.

Since that day, our mission at CGO Inc. has been clear: to narrow the wealth gap, one student at a time, and empower young people to take control of their financial destinies. My journey has always been about resilience, faith, and turning adversity into opportunity. The trauma of 1999 could have defined my life, but I chose to rise above it and use my story to lift others. My path has not just been about survival—it’s been about transformation, about finding purpose in pain, and creating hope where there seemed to be none.

Through CGO Inc., I reach students who face challenges they never anticipated, by providing them with financial knowledge and a mindset of self-sufficiency. I aim to help them break the cycles of poverty that hold them back. The work we do goes beyond education—it is about sparking change, instilling confidence, and nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.

This journey has been incredibly inspiring, not just because of what I’ve overcome, but because of the young people we serve. Their potential, determination, and resilience motivate me every day. Together, we are building a stronger community—one student, one family, one opportunity at a time.
